The Fermi Large Area Telescope (LAT) has observed Tycho Supernova Remnant in the MeV-GeV energy range. The spectrum has been studied using the first 

G292.0+1.8. This remnant is unique in that it contains a large quantity of oxygen, which can potentially lead to the formation of planets like Earth. In 1572, the Danish astronomer Tycho Brahe observed and studied the explosion of a star that became known as Tycho's supernova. More than four centuries later, Chandra's image of the supernova remnant shows an expanding bubble of multimillion degree debris (green and red) inside a more rapidly moving shell of extremely high energy electrons (filamentary blue).

Chandra reveals an intriguing pattern of bright clumps and fainter areas in Tycho. Tycho's Supernova Remnant.
